Sitting after today's guest lecture, focusing on descriptive and reflective logging has induced me into approaching my reflective feelings for Hereford's New Look Store. My first experience of the newly refurbished store in 2007, when I began my first shift of work as an employee of the company, a "Team Member" (as they refer to their sales assistant team, opened my eyes completley and gave me a new outlook on fashion as a whole. Untill this time I was never really certain about my future career aspects, it soon became clear on looking forward to working my part time shifts alongside college, that I had a completley new outlook on my future.
I asked myself on entering the store that day, why is it that when shopping instore you never quite identify with the actions that occoured to put the clothing there. It intrested me entirley to be involved in achieving this, to be part of choosing the clothes that invite customers into the store. I was desperate to stick my teeth into everything, and willing to learn as much as I could about how the company is run without being directly involved, all the information I took into account when thinking about my career.x

Floor-MOVE!
New Look Hereford, 3rd biggest store in its region, has been instructed to move around departments in order to increase customer spending. Basement floor has been converted into a mix and match floor, full of accessories and other collaborations including AX Paris and Rage clothing. This has been a good move for the store, showing an increase in sales by 30%.
The visual merchandising in store is run by three managers, they each bring a different outlook on current trends. They have made a conscious decisison to move the childrenswear upstairs to increase popularity of menswear, incorporating Generation 915 and New Look Kids. Thus leaving a whole ground floor with current trends sectioned off into 3 main trends for the season. Denim being a huge focus ever since the YES YES jeans were launched in Summer 09.
