Say YES YES to YES YES...

Classical fashion
Fashion photography is one of the most important ways of promotion within the industry. Myself I am interested in the classical side. However it is interesting to see how fashion has grown through this medium. Beginning with Horst P. Horst, legendary fashion photographer who used the platinum palladium photographic process (as opposed to silver prints), is responsible for some of the most iconic fashion photography of the 20th Century.
Photography has been tested to extremes in fashion, the work is abstract and clear cut!
Nudity has become explicit, however more and more pictures are appearing to shock and stun people into buying a certain brand or piece of clothing.
Fashion Illustration is a medium in which creative expression can be given free rein and designers can explore ideas before the realities of budgets, fabrics, or physics intervene.
Every company will use this way of desiging, New Look are prime examples when producing their ranges for Giles Deacon and Taylor Mamsden, this is how they will present their ideas to the designers.

A view of islington from my car seat....
Beautiful morning :) sun is shining and everyone is busy, everyone has their own heading
And is starting the day by making this journey. The average person is wearing a long over coast
Subdued to the weather forcast for the day obviously being a lot warmer than they expect.
A girl approaches my right, you can tell she is important from the off, hair scrapped back of her face,
Worker boots mabye for the long walk ahead of her, I would call her an ordarly mess
I don't feel there is any particular fashion in london, there is not necessarily a trend pattern forming each individual combines comfortable pieces of their wardrobe in order to pull off an almost Stylish thrown on look! This works brilliantly and goes alongside the bustle and lifestyle these men and women endure every morning!

Missing Opportunity
New Look-New Float
In recent news there has been major discussions on the current market status of New Look as a retailer. It has been called to attention in the latest news documents that the company could resurrect its £1.7bn flotation plans this week when its board meets to consider if market conditions have improved sufficiently since the deal was postponed last month.
This news is promising alone as the bad news hit the company merley 5 months ago that companies such as 'Premira' were unwilling to invest. Since the plans were shelved, some deals have been successful, giving the New Look's owners renewed confidence.

Reflection.....
Sitting after today's guest lecture, focusing on descriptive and reflective logging has induced me into approaching my reflective feelings for Hereford's New Look Store. My first experience of the newly refurbished store in 2007, when I began my first shift of work as an employee of the company, a "Team Member" (as they refer to their sales assistant team, opened my eyes completley and gave me a new outlook on fashion as a whole. Untill this time I was never really certain about my future career aspects, it soon became clear on looking forward to working my part time shifts alongside college, that I had a completley new outlook on my future.
I asked myself on entering the store that day, why is it that when shopping instore you never quite identify with the actions that occoured to put the clothing there. It intrested me entirley to be involved in achieving this, to be part of choosing the clothes that invite customers into the store. I was desperate to stick my teeth into everything, and willing to learn as much as I could about how the company is run without being directly involved, all the information I took into account when thinking about my career.x

Floor-MOVE!
New Look Hereford, 3rd biggest store in its region, has been instructed to move around departments in order to increase customer spending. Basement floor has been converted into a mix and match floor, full of accessories and other collaborations including AX Paris and Rage clothing. This has been a good move for the store, showing an increase in sales by 30%.
The visual merchandising in store is run by three managers, they each bring a different outlook on current trends. They have made a conscious decisison to move the childrenswear upstairs to increase popularity of menswear, incorporating Generation 915 and New Look Kids. Thus leaving a whole ground floor with current trends sectioned off into 3 main trends for the season. Denim being a huge focus ever since the YES YES jeans were launched in Summer 09.

New Look-New Way Of Life!
Store number 1879recently refurbished, one of the biggest and most popular store in the city of Hereford. Nearest stores Cardiff and Birmingham that match in size. I work here part time and have done for 2 years. Hereford store. Sales assistant.
Job includes move rounds, every 2 weeks, involves late night shifts. Bring down new stock bring new stock to the front and keep older stock to the back. Sale three times a year, includes compiling mark downs, blocking colours and styles. Friendly manager, trusted to express opinion on layout of accessories.
Recent updated store layout, modern, white. Layout has differed since I have worked there as concessions was not as popular so it was a store decision to move this section to the basement floor instead of 1st floor which consisted of menswear only. This decision has paid off as these products were in huge demand over Christmas.
